Regenerating countryside archipelagos

The project aims to regenerate a countryside archipelago in Sicily, with a focus on the Menfi-Favara-Monti Sicani sub-region. Its primary objectives are to balance the effects of territorial capital flow on medium-small scale cities and enhance the competitiveness of local assets. The project integrates the concepts of economic sustainability and innovative strategies for regeneration, fostering synergies between urban and rur-urban areas. The creative and infrastructural assets of these areas have the potential to produce innovative regeneration images. The project aims to activate new life cycles in marginal, abandoned, and disused areas and ensure social and economic values by considering urban archipelagos and infrastructural gateways as factors that lead to productivity through a hyper-cycling process.
